Child safety standards

MagdalaMatrimony is a matrimony service for adults looking for a marriage partner, available on magdalamatrimony.com and in the MagdalaMatrimony app for Android and iOS. This page sets out our standards against child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) and how we enforce them.

Zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation

  • We do not tolerate child sexual abuse and exploitation of any kind on MagdalaMatrimony. This includes child sexual abuse material (CSAM), grooming, sexualising minors, and any attempt to contact, solicit or arrange to meet a minor.
  • Any account found sharing, requesting or promoting such content or behaviour is blocked and removed, and the content is taken down.
  • Where we become aware of child sexual abuse material, we will report it to the relevant authorities, such as the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and the appropriate law enforcement authorities in India, and we will cooperate with their lawful requests.

Adults only: 18 and over

You must be at least 18 years old to use MagdalaMatrimony. A date of birth is required to create an account, on the website, in the app and when signing up with Google, and registration is refused if it shows an age under 18. Profiles may be created by a parent or sibling on behalf of a family member, but the person the profile is for must also be an adult. Accounts found to belong to, or to be created for, anyone under 18 are removed.

How to report a profile in the MagdalaMatrimony app

  1. Open the member's profile.
  2. Tap the More actions button (three dots) at the top of the profile.
  3. Tap Report profile.
  4. Describe what is wrong, including anything you saw in their photos or messages, and tap Send report. The member is not told who reported them.

How to report a profile on the website

  1. Sign in at magdalamatrimony.com and open the member's profile.
  2. Click Report (the flag) in the profile's action row.
  3. Enter the reason for the report, including anything you saw in their photos or messages, and click Submit.

To stop seeing a member while we review a report, choose Ignore member from the same More actions menu. They will no longer appear in your matches or search results.

You can also report anything you see on MagdalaMatrimony, including a specific message or photo, or a concern about someone who is not a member, by emailing hashdeveloop@gmail.com with the subject "Child safety". If a child is in immediate danger, contact your local police or emergency services first.

How we review reports

  • Every report goes to a moderation queue that our administrators review.
  • Reports involving a possible minor or child sexual abuse and exploitation are treated as the highest priority.
  • When a report is upheld, the administrator can block the account, which signs the member out and stops them from using MagdalaMatrimony straight away, hide the profile from other members, and delete the account together with its photos, messages and other data.
  • Confirmed child sexual abuse material is reported to the authorities as described above.
